The working principle of aquarium filter mainly includes three methods: physical filtration, biological filtration and chemical filtration.
Physical filtration
Physical filtration is to remove large particles such as feed residues, dead fish bones, feces, etc. from the water through mechanical equipment. Commonly used physical filtration materials include sponges, spray cotton, fine mesh polyester nets, etc. These materials are installed at the front end of the filtration system to initially filter large particles of impurities.
Biological filtration
Biological filtration is to decompose harmful substances in water, such as ammonia, nitrite, etc., by cultivating beneficial bacteria. Common biological filtration materials include biochemical balls, ceramic rings, glass rings, etc. These materials provide attachment surfaces for nitrifying bacteria to attach and reproduce, thereby degrading harmful substances in the water and maintaining ecological balance.
Chemical filtration
Chemical filtration is the use of chemicals to remove impurities in water. Commonly used chemicals include water treatment flocculants, algaecides, etc. These chemicals can adsorb suspended matter and organic matter in water and improve water quality.
Types of filters and their working principles
Filters can be divided into self-cleaning filters, fully automatic filters, stainless steel brush filters, etc. according to their working principles. According to the different filter media, they can be divided into air filters, liquid filters, network filters, etc. The working principle of the filter is to monitor the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet through the pressure difference. When the pressure difference reaches the set value, the electronic controller will start the cleaning process, and the motor will drive the brush to rotate and clean the filter element. At the same time, the control valve will be opened for sewage discharge. The entire cleaning process only takes tens of seconds. After the cleaning is completed, the system returns to the initial state and starts the next filtering process.
